Sabre At La Trobe – Friday Nights
La Trobe University Fencing Club (LTFC) wishes to bring the attention to the fencing community, an initiative to broaden sabre fencing opportunities.
When Covid -19 restrictions ease and sport returns to its routine, it is our aim to allow interested sabreurs to participate in our Friday’s training session.
Our sabre and head coach Rudolf Lewith is conducting structured sabre training.
Training is conducted from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM each Friday.
Starting with a warm up and specialized foot work for all weapons at 7:30 PM the sabre squad is then separated to train in a group session.
Rudolf is prescribing attacking/defending tasks that are trained in pairs rotating to enable beginners and advanced fencers to experience the exercises.
When the coach is satisfied and the tasks are adhered to his satisfaction, sabreurs can move to practice these tasks on electric registration.
Free bouting concludes at 8.45pm.
To those interested, the first attendance is free and further options such as continuation or individual lessons should be discussed with the club President – latrobefencing@gmail.com.
All ages and genders are welcomed.
