The request must be made in writing to either the General Manager or Operations Manager. The request will be considered the athlete advised of the outcome in writing prior to the event.

General Manager (Generalmanager@fencingvictoria.org) or Operations Manager (operations@fencingvictoria.org)

Competition Requirement: Athletes may request an exemption from declared competition requirement or the information session after those events on the following grounds:

Medical Withdrawal: A Medical Certificate will be required, confirming the reason of absence.

Geographical Withdrawal: Athletes will need to demonstrate they were unable to attend the event due to their location at the time of the event. This will be deemed as being more than 100 kilometres from the event at the time it was held.  The request must be made in writing to either the General Manager or Operations Manager. The request must be received no more than 7 days after the scheduled date of the event for which exemption is sought.  The Fencing Victoria Executive/Management will consider the request and advise the athlete of the outcome in writing within 14 days of lodgement of the request.

This request must be made in writing to either the General Manager (Generalmanager@fencingvictoria.org) or Operations Manager (operations@fencingvictoria.org). The request must be received at least 28 days prior to the commencement of the relevant National Championship.  These exemptions or variations will be at the discretion of the Fencing Victoria Executive/Management.  This may only qualify you for the individual event and will be taken on a case, by case basis, at the discretion of Fencing Victoria Executive.

Appeals Process

If an athlete is not selected for the representative team, they can appeal the non-selection decision.

The request must be made in writing to either the General Manager or Operations Manager. The request must be received at least 14 days prior to the commencement of the relevant National Championship. The Fencing Victoria Executive/Management will consider the appeal and advise the athlete of the outcome in writing at least 7 days prior to the commencement of the relevant National Championship.

COVID-19 Considerations (Force Majeure)

In the event of disruption to competitions, Fencing Victoria will adjust selection criteria accordingly.  It is our intention to ensure that fencers wishing to represent Victoria at Aged National events are able and prepared.  This preparation may be extended to include further information sessions or competitions in lieu.  These will be announced at the discretion of the Fencing Victoria executive or management.
