The Victorian Fencing Community is shocked and grieved at the sudden death of Robyn Hunter.
Robyn has been a stalwart of Fencing Victoria for many years beginning as a parent, then later as an elected Director of Fencing Victoria prior to the 2010 Commonwealth Fencing Championships. She transformed the communications role and more recently has been the driving force behind Fencing Victoria Operations. Tirelessly working to ensure our community was supported with competitions, policies and grants. Robyn was a guardian of the sport of fencing which she loved dearly. She worked tirelessly in the background often, outwardly unrecognized. She was respected and admired by all who worked with her and by all the many fencers, coaches and parents who dealt with her on a regular basis.
Robyn’s cheerful approach and can-do attitude made her a valuable member of the Fencing Victoria team and she will be greatly missed by everyone.
The Victorian Fencing Community sends its deepest condolences to John Hunter and family.
Robyn, may the Valkyries welcome you and guide you to Valhalla
