Selection Policy

2023 Selection Policy Click Here  The Policy explains the Criteria for entering a National U15, U17 or U20 Event, as well as the requirements to attend the Information Day.  The Policy also sets out how to apply for an exemption from either Competitions, or the Information Day, if you/your child, meet the requirements to apply for such an exemption.

Age Exemptions

If you are intending on Competing in the upcoming U20 Australian Championships on the 3-6 Feb., and you/your child, were under 13 years of age, as of the 1st January 2023, you will need to apply for an exemption from the AFF.

To apply for an Age Exemption, you will need to send a request to Gordon Christie – gordon.christie@fencing.org.au,  The fencer’s Coach will need to support this request, so you will need them to write a letter to Gordon, stating that the Fencer has the ability, and is capable, of competing in this event.  This letter will need to accompany your application for an exception.  Ensure you allow a week for the request to be processed, so that you do not incur a late fee to enter the event.

Membership

Finally, please make sure your 2023 Club/School Membership and Upgrade to Full Junior affiliation are paid at least 48 hours before end of registration, as it can take time to move into the Register Now portal, and if there are any issues, it also gives time to fix them.

Please contact me if you have any questions, or any issues, with registration.  When paying for membership, please pay for the 2023 Club/School Membership, before Registering for the Upgrade.
